The Neighborhood Schoolhouse is committed to serving a diverse student body. Each child is an individual with unique gifts and learning styles, and each deserves to be known as a whole person.
Our integrated curriculum is designed to nurture curiosity and to offer individual guidance based on each child’s needs. Our admissions requirements are few.
- Preschool: Students must be three years old by September 1, and must be toilet-trained.
- Pre-K: Students must be 4½ by September 1.
- K through 6: We require prior school records and an interview with the teacher.
For many students, our school will be the right fit; for some, a different school may be a better choice. Our goal is to always do what’s best for the child.

A Note on Special Education
The Neighborhood Schoolhouse is not approved for special education, nor does it employ teachers with special education certification. While we try to meet the needs of all students, there are some needs that may not be best met in our school.
We will review IEPs, observe and assess students, and consider the needs of the whole class when considering whether we can meet the needs of any individual applying to our school.
