Parents are a vital part of our school community; family involvement helps keep our tuition as low as possible and ensures that our school can thrive. Working together is a wonderful way to build community and rediscover what a special school you are helping to sustain!
To fulfill the work requirement, each family is required to contribute at least 15 hours (8 for 2- and 3-day preschool families) of work (special programs, maintenance, publicity, etc.) per year to the school. During the year there will be notices in the Parent Memo about jobs we have available.
Summer Work Party
All families are required to work four hours at a summer work party. These work parties are a fun and productive way for our school to get ready for the new year!
Our Board of Directors is charged with overseeing staff and teachers, creating budgets, tracking spending, raising funds for scholarships and other programs, ensuring learning spaces are safe and functional, development, and strategic planning. Board meetings happen on the first Wednesday of every month and free childcare is available for those who RSVP. If you are interested in participating please contact us at (802) 257-5544 or at email@example.com.
Our biggest fundraiser of the year is our annual Enchanted Halloween event. This is a magical time at Neighborhood and is a great opportunity to lend your hand.
Each year, a few parents meet their requirement for service hours by offering a workshop in their area of professional expertise. Parent-led programs have included international folk dance, woodland survival, gymnastics, three-dimensional drawing, foreign language and many others.
